Moventas Santasalo offers different types of gear units for heavy duty conveying applications. They are used in mass flow conveying in mineral processing and for transportation needs in other industrial applications. Our drive solutions can be used in both horizontal and vertical conveyer applications. The application-based design ensures that specific end-user requirements, particularly high performance and cost efficiency, are met.

Depending on the design and construction, we offer the following mounting positions:

• Foot-mounted gear unit with solid output shaft
• Foot-mounted gear unit with hollow output shaft on a swing base
• Shaft-mounted gear unit with hollow output shaft 

Input and output shafts are specially ground and hardened to ensure an effective sealing surface. Different types of assembly arrangements, swing base, bedplate and torque arm, provide different mounting variations. Many types of HSS connections, hydraulic couplings, disc/drum brakes, etc. satisfy even the most demanding customer needs. Our gear units are equipped with backstops or brakes if required to prevent the conveying belt from running backwards when the drive is switched off.
