May 26, 2009 Moventas launches load testing facilities for roll gearboxes in the USMoventas has established new testing facilities for roll gearboxes at its Service Center in Greenville, SC. As the only roll gear unit manufacturer offering load testing in the US, Moventas is now able to test all serviced roll gear units under load conditions ensuring reliable performance and reducing life-cycle costs with more effective, tailored maintenance. The latest test stand technology allows application-based testing for all serviced roll gearboxes in close-to-actual operating conditions. With pre-service load testing of a gear unit, costly and time-consuming disassembly can be avoided when only minor maintenance might be required. Furthermore, vibration measurements obtained from the loaded test can identify potential problems or components that require proactive maintenance before failure occurs. The test stand is robustly constructed, featuring a very high torque power transmission drive train with oversized articulated shaft and gear clutch, and thoroughly isolated from external vibration. Test gear lubrication flow, pressure and temperature are regulated and effective filtration removes impurities. A special feature of the Moventas test stand is the energy saving system by which more than 90% of the applied electric energy during tests is fed back to the public electricity grid. Moventas offers comprehensive gearbox maintenance, diagnostic and modernization services for paper, board and tissue machines regardless of the original gear unit manufacturer. As a supplier of complete drive solutions for rebuilds, modernizations and new installations, Moventas covers all mechanical power transmission needs - everything from 3D layout planning, design engineering and manufacturing to service and technical support. More information about the application-based testing for roll gears as well as other Moventas' products and services can be obtained at the Moventas booth No. 405 at the PaperCon '09 exhibition on May 31-June 3, 2009 in St. Louis, MO. « Back | Print page | ||||
