Moventas wins Governor’s Trade Award as Foreign Owned Enterprise in Minnesota, USA

The Minnesota Trade Office in the United States helps foreign companies invest in Minnesota through new business startups or expansions. In May 11, 2017 the Trade Office named five companies winners of the Governor’s Foreign Direct Investment Award, which recognizes significant investment in Minnesota by foreign-based companies.

Moventas was one of the award-winning Foreign Owned Enterprises and honored during the World Trade Month luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in Bloomington. The Winners were selected for increasing or maintaining jobs in Minnesota, and for developing novel approaches for competing globally.

Daniel Multer, US Operations Manager, received the award on behalf of Moventas’ staff in the luncheon and expressed our gratitude to the Trade Office for the constant support along the way from the idea to a successful business.

The story dates back to February 2015, when Moventas opened the state-of-the-art gearbox workshop in the city of St. Paul to get closer to its key clients and answering to the growing demand of expert wind drivetrain service in the area. The state ranks 7th in the United States for installed wind capacity, with about 3,000 megawatts. That number shows how critical the St. Paul location is for strengthening our presence in the growing “wind belt”, where our customers need quick and efficient delivery of parts and services. Centrally located, a hub in this area helps us lower logistics and travel costs.
