What if we could have endless amounts of sustainable energy?
This is the question that drives us. We want to change the world. We want to be part of the solution that solves the problems with the current energy production model. When we achieve our goals, our legacy for our children and for the generations to come will be a cleaner, greener and healthier planet.
Climate change is real
and it brings challenges
Burning fossil fuels is a major contributor to climate change, causing 99,5% of the CO2 emissions in energy production. And yet over 80% of the world’s energy is produced this way. Without alternative energy sources we will not achieve the targeted 2 degree celsius limit set in the Paris Agreement. If we continue this way, we have a lot to lose.
Paris Agreement: essential elements
The Paris Agreement builds upon the Convention and – for the first time – brings all nations into a common cause to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects, with enhanced support to assist developing countries to do so. As such, it charts a new course in the global climate effort.
World Energy Outlook 2021
The successful outcome of COP21 has raised hopes and expectations of concerted global efforts to tackle climate change. How will this affect the momentum behind the deployment of key renewable technologies and the drive for greater energy efficiency? Take a look at the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2018.
We need a better solution
for sustainable energy production
One of the most acute problems that results from burning fossil fuels, is pollution. Right now 80% of people living in urban areas are breathing unhealthy air caused by burning fossil fuels. World population is projected to grow from 7.3 billion to 9.7 billion in next 30 years. Combined with the rapid urbanization, the global energy demand is expected to grow over 50% during that time.
Alternative energy sources can no longer be just alternative
We need to develop alternative energy sources into the mainstream. Our aim is to bring the competitiveness of wind energy to a whole new level. We’ll do this by bringing the levelized cost of energy as low as possible. This means for example that we face the contradicting challenge of needing to build bigger but lighter wind turbines.
Extending the life and delivering the efficiency
Our multibrand service concept includes repairs and upgrades on Moventas and non-Moventas gearbox models for over 20 different wind turbine brands. We provide factory repairs and on-site services. Our extensive knowhow shows especially in our innovative up-tower services. Our objective is to extend gearbox life on existing fleets. We drive down O&M costs for turbine owners and operators and our services increase operational reliability in a cost-effective way.
Over 40 years of heritage converted to the solutions for the future
We were among the first companies to extend the gearbox expertise into wind turbines. We delivered our very first kW class wind gearbox in 1980. Our predecessors have manufactured industrial gearboxes since the 1940’s, hence our metallurgy expertise and manufacturing methodologies offer clear advantages to our innovation capabilities. In addition we understand what the real needs are.
Competitiveness is what we ultimately strive for
Our way of life is dependent on access to reliable energy. We can match that demand by improving the competitiveness of wind energy. Therefore our R&D is concentrated on lowering the levelized cost of energy. Whether it is a new product design or improved service offering or new addition to our IoT solutions, it all aims to make wind power ever more competitive. Our end goal is to provide endless amount of sustainable energy competitively.
This is our legacy for the next generations
The future generations will need more energy. That is a fact, as our way of life is dependent on energy. What kind of world we leave behind is still up to us. When we achieve our goals, we can proudly say, that the world around us will be a beautiful place. Our legacy for our children and for the generations to come will be a cleaner, greener and healthier planet.
